| AIM AND FASTRAX SEAL A DEAL TO GET NEW MUSIC TO RADIO 22 June 2001 Liege hotel roomsIndependent music trade body AIM has set up another special relationship for its members-this time with Fastrax, the leading broad band distributor of new releases to UK commercial radio.
Following AIM's recent agreement with Fastrax, the number of AIM members using the service continues to rise on a day-to-day basis, according to Fastrax. Fastrax sales director, Malcolm Highmore comments: "Fastrax helps create a competitive arena for the independent labels by giving them a better, more cost effective way of getting releases to the radio programmers. Based on our feedback, the radio stations are welcoming the opportunity to review a greater volume of new tracks from the indies." He adds: "We are grateful to AIM for enabling us to work closely with its members, and for their support."
AIM CEO, Alison Wenham endorses the relationship, saying: "Fastrax are smart. They recognise the value of enfranchising the independent sector through AIM and have offered AIM members a very competitive deal which - for the first time - levels the playing field for independents to get their music in front of the key decision makers in radio."
